Gandapur, PTI Workers Return from March Citing Security Concerns

DERA ISMAIL KHAN: Former Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) workers have returned from the party’s long march, citing security concerns and the closure of roads, according to Gandapur.

Speaking in Dera Ismail Khan, Gandapur said the decision was taken after considering the prevailing law and order situation and the safety of party workers.

Gandapur Urges Workers to Continue Movement Peacefully

Gandapur said PTI leadership had instructed workers not to damage public property or take the law into their own hands. He urged supporters to continue their political activities peacefully.

He said the prevailing security situation was not suitable for keeping a large number of workers in the area and argued that exposing them to potential risks would be irresponsible.

“It is not possible to stay here overnight, and we cannot move forward because the road is closed,” Gandapur said, explaining that returning was considered safer than exposing workers to danger.

Gandapur said rallies, processions and long marches were not new to PTI and that workers would participate again if the party leadership called for their return.

He said transport arrangements had been made up to Swabi and that other preparations were in place. According to Gandapur, workers could reach the march within two hours if the party leadership issued a fresh call.

Gandapur Calls for Focus on Ground Situation

Gandapur said PTI workers and supporters regarded decisions taken by the party leadership as collective decisions of the party.
