ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced the dates for the 12th edition of the Pakistan Super League, with the tournament scheduled to run from March 18 to May 2, 2027.

According to the PCB, all eight franchises will compete for the PSL 12 title during the six-week tournament.

The PSL Governing Council finalised the tournament window during a meeting in London on September 1, 2026. Owners and representatives of all eight franchises attended the meeting, while the PCB consulted key stakeholders before setting the dates.

PSL 2026 set new milestones

The 2026 season marked several milestones in the league’s history. For the first time, eight teams competed in the tournament, while the PCB replaced the player draft with a player auction.

The final at Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium attracted a record 32,461 spectators, according to the PCB.

Peshawar Zalmi defeated debutants Hyderabad Kingsmen by five wickets in the final on May 3, 2026, to win the title. The victory ended the franchise’s nine-year wait for another PSL championship.

Key stages ahead of PSL 12

With the tournament window confirmed, the PCB will now move towards several key stages, including direct signings, player retentions, the trade window and the player auction.

These processes will shape the squads and team combinations for the 2027 season.

What did PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi say?

PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi said PSL 11 had demonstrated the league’s potential to a global audience.

He said the previous season featured thrilling moments, record attendances and record broadcast figures, drawing widespread attention across Pakistan.

Naqvi added that the PCB would seek to raise the standard further during PSL 12 and was committed to staging another successful season.

PSL Chief Executive Salman Naseer said the previous season had raised expectations around the league.
