KP Police Issue Strict Operational Directives to Tackle Protests and Riots

PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Police have issued written operational directives to deal with riots, protests and demonstrations across the province, warning that strict legal action will be taken against individuals involved in violence, vandalism and activities that threaten public order.

According to the directives, police will take action in accordance with the law against those involved in creating disturbances, damaging public property or disrupting law and order. The instructions emphasize that government installations, buildings and other public assets must not be allowed to become targets of violence during protests or demonstrations.

The KP Police have urged citizens to avoid participating in unlawful gatherings, violent activities and acts of provocation. The directives warn that individuals found violating the law will face legal consequences.

Security Measures for Government Buildings and Key Locations

The written instructions call for special security arrangements to protect police stations, government buildings, banks, petrol pumps, commercial centres and major highways.

These measures are intended to safeguard important public facilities and prevent damage or disruption during demonstrations and other law-and-order incidents. Citizens have been advised to remain peaceful, comply with the law and avoid being influenced by individuals encouraging violence or unrest.

The directives also instruct police to record videos of protests, demonstrations and related operational activities.

The recordings will help authorities identify individuals involved in unlawful activities and support any subsequent legal proceedings where necessary.

The measure is intended to provide documentation of incidents and assist law enforcement agencies in taking action in accordance with the law.
