Mohammad Rizwan Granted Permission to Play Domestic Cricket

LAHORE :  PCB has granted Mohammad Rizwan to play domestic cricket.

According to the sources, Pakistan national team wicketkeeper-batter Mohammad Rizwan granted permission to play domestic cricket by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB),  clearing the way for his return to domestic action representing Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL).

The PCB sources have confirmed that  Mohammad Rizwan had initially requested a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the PCB to participate in the Nepal Cricket League.

However, board officials directed the senior wicketkeeper to prioritize local first-class and regional competitions. Confirming the development in an exclusive conversation, SNGPL Head Coach Mohammad Hafeez verified that Mohammad Rizwan granted permission to play domestic cricket and will be featuring in their upcoming fixtures.

The star cricketer is scheduled to step onto the field on October 19 against Khan Research Laboratories (KRL).

Meanwhile, reports suggest that an NOC for the Nepal Cricket League may still be issued in due course, pending an ongoing administrative review by the National Cricket Council of Pakistan (NCCI).

A Note on Mohammad Rizwan’s Investigation by NCCI

The administrative review surrounding Mohammad Rizwan by the National Cricket Council of Pakistan (NCCI) pertains to regulatory compliance and contractual protocols governing national team players participating in foreign franchise leagues.

The NCCI serves as a supervisory body responsible for evaluating player availability, workload management, and compliance with national central contracts prior to authorizing international league participation.

When Mohammad Rizwan submitted his formal application seeking a No Objection Certificate (NOC) to feature in the Nepal Cricket League, the council initiated a standard compliance check.

The inquiry assesses whether a player’s potential franchise commitments align with the domestic calendar and national team preparation schedules set by the PCB.

While NOC requests for overseas franchise leagues are common, the council evaluates each case based on domestic tournament obligations, physical fitness benchmarks, and central contract conditions.

While the matter remains under review within the NCCI framework, board directives emphasizing priority for domestic tournaments led to the current arrangement where Mohammad Rizwan granted permission to play domestic cricket for SNGPL.
