Government Hits Back at JUI-F Chief as Defence and Interior Ministers Lead Response

Responding to remarks made in Parliament, Federal Minister for Defence Khawaja Asif rejected assertions regarding recent high-level diplomatic engagements. He clarified that regional discussions including diplomatic visits to Tehran were strictly focused on regional stability, peace-building, and managing current geopolitical challenges rather than pursuing secretive defense pacts. Asif urged political leaders to act responsibly and acknowledge the state’s diplomatic achievements instead of scoring political points.

Echoing these views in the Senate, Federal Minister for Interior Mohsin Naqvi expressed deep disappointment over the rhetoric directed at national institutions. Naqvi maintained that executive and security institutions are fully focused on protecting the country during critical times, adding that political maneuvering should not take precedence over national interests.

Upholding the Supremacy of the State

Government representatives asserted that constructive criticism is a normal part of a democratic setup, but crossing ethical and institutional redlines damages the country’s collective standing.
