State Committed Political Injustice by Denying Fazlur Rehman His Due Share: Tahir Ashrafi

ISLAMABAD: Hafiz Tahir Ashrafi has unveiled real cause of why Maulana Fazal ur rehman is angry.

According to the details,  Chairman of the Pakistan Ulema Council (PUC), Hafiz Tahir Mahmood Ashrafi, has launched a sharp critique against the country’s ruling coalition, asserting that the state and its leadership have committed political injustice by enticing Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI-F) Chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman with high office and subsequently denying him a rightful role in governance.

Addressing press representatives, Ashrafi declared that the rulers must listen to Maulana Fazlur Rehman’s concerns.

He suggested that the government form a dedicated high-level committee equivalent in status to a federal ministry, appoint Maulana Fazlur Rehman as its chairman, and allow him the use of official aircraft.

According to Ashrafi, Maulana Fazlur Rehman was initially promised the presidency, but events on February 5 revealed that he was left without significant political leverage in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan, exposing the political injustice meted out to him.

Foreign Policy, Regional Security, and Middle East Dynamics

Reflecting on his recent visit to Tehran two days prior, Ashrafi addressed foreign relations and regional security dynamics.

He stated that reports indicating Pakistan is overly anxious on behalf of Iran are misplaced. Regarding the Houthi movement, he remarked that they hold no significance, adding that God created Pakistan’s ties to stand alongside the military of Saudi Arabia, and any elements trying to create divisions over this partnership are deeply unsettled.

Ashrafi emphasized that the Constitution of Pakistan is stronger than those of 57 Islamic nations.

He maintained that access to the doorstep of Allah and His Prophet is impossible without divine will, and assured that conspiracies by hostile forces would not be allowed to succeed.

Describing the defense of the Holy Harramayn as a proud honor for the Pakistan Armed Forces, he noted that Almighty Allah bestowed the command of Pakistan’s army upon a Hafiz-e-Quran (memorizer of the Quran). He added that adversaries in the battle of truth mistakenly believed Pakistan was weak.

The PUC Chairman announced that the central executive committee of the council fully supports the government’s stance regarding the expansion projects in Makkah.

Extending an assurance to the King and the people of Saudi Arabia, he affirmed that Pakistanis are prepared to sacrifice their lives for Makkah and Madinah, stating that any aggression against the holy lands remains an absolute red line.

He also welcomed Pakistan’s recent defense agreements and commended Iran’s announcement distancing itself from Houthi actions.

Appeal to Balochistan, Security in KPK, and Domestic Stability

Ashrafi made an emotional appeal to the mothers, sisters, and daughters of Balochistan, calling on them to rise up against terrorists who abduct young girls from colleges and exploit them for militant activities.

Condemning the recent attack on a girls’ college aimed at depriving female students of education, he invited the youth of Balochistan who respect the Constitution of Pakistan to step forward for meaningful dialogue.

Turning to the situation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Ashrafi remarked on the emergency-like security state in the province, emphasizing that it is the direct responsibility of the Prime Minister and the Governor of KPK to restore peace.

He urged political stakeholders to resolve internal bitterness, pay attention to threats directed at holy sites and regional peace, and accept the Prime Minister’s repeated invitations for national dialogue so everyone can get on the same page.

Highlighting positive administrative steps, he mentioned that bank accounts for traditional seminaries (madaris) have begun opening in Islamabad.

Concluding his statement, Ashrafi reiterated that the Pakistan Armed Forces are a non-negotiable red line for the nation.

He noted that leaders like Maulana Fazlur Rehman, Nawaz Sharif, and religious scholars owe their present standing to the grace of God and the state.

Drawing an analogy, he said that just as parents know how to care for their children, Maulana knows how a mother is appeased, and the state likewise knows how to satisfy its senior leaders.

He directly urged President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to rectify the political injustice by granting Maulana Fazlur Rehman his legitimate rights alongside other political partners.

Pointing out that Maulana Fazlur Rehman currently faces health challenges, Ashrafi advised that when his blood pressure is high, he should be advised to rest rather than deliver public speeches, while the state takes active responsibility to ensure peace and resolve political grievances.
