ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s Capital Development Authority (CDA) has issued notices to religious seminaries linked to Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman over alleged violations of building regulations in the federal capital.
The notices cite unauthorised construction and non-compliance with approved building plans, warning that failure to meet regulatory requirements could lead to legal action, including the sealing of the buildings.
One of the notices was issued to Madrassa Akhtar-ul-Uloom in Islamabad over construction allegedly carried out without an approved building plan.
CDA Action Against Fazlur Rehman-Linked Madaris
The CDA has directed the seminary’s administration to submit an approved building plan within 15 days, warning that failure to comply could trigger further action under applicable building regulations.
The authority has also instructed the management of the buildings concerned to take corrective measures within the stipulated timeframe to address violations of construction rules.
The notices mark a regulatory move by the CDA to enforce building standards in Islamabad, with the authority warning that buildings found in violation of the rules could face sealing and other legal consequences.
