Balochistan to Introduce Pension Benefits Under Contract Employment Policy

QUETTA: The Balochistan government is working on legislation to introduce pension benefits for contract employees while making recruitment and termination procedures more flexible, according to a statement by the provincial leadership.

“We are the first province in Pakistan to pass an act and introduce legislation concerning contract employees,” the statement said.

The speaker highlighted the impact of contract-based recruitment in the education sector, claiming that 99 per cent of schools in Balochistan are currently open and that teachers have been recruited on merit.

The government is now working to introduce further legal reforms to the contract employment policy, including provisions for pensions. The proposed framework aims to provide employees with additional benefits while simplifying hiring and termination procedures.
