Canada-Returned Couple Found Murdered In Karachi

KARACHI: An elderly couple who had recently returned from Canada were found murdered inside their home in North Karachi, prompting police to register a double murder case and launch an investigation.
The victims were identified as Yameen and his wife, Nafisa Akhtar. Both were found lying in a pool of blood in the television lounge of their residence.
The case was registered at Sir Syed Police Station on the complaint of Muhammad Anwar, Yameen’s brother, under the relevant provisions of the law relating to murder.
According to the complainant, Yameen had started renovation work at the house after returning from Canada and had asked his sister to vacate the property.
Anwar told police that he became suspicious when the couple stopped answering his phone calls. He subsequently visited their residence and opened the door using a duplicate key, where he discovered the bodies and alerted the police.
The complainant alleged that unidentified assailants had killed the couple, although the motive for the murders remains unknown.
Post-mortem examinations were conducted at Abbasi Shaheed Hospital. Investigative sources said both victims had suffered severe head injuries, suggesting they may have been struck with a heavy object.
