QUETTA: In an ongoing digital campaign aimed at maligning state institutions, hostile and anti-state factions frequently traced to external Afghan propaganda accounts networkshave once again been exposed for circulating manipulated and recycled content.
Recent social media claims alleging that Pakistani security forces forcibly abducted a civilian in Balochistan have been verified as entirely false. A thorough technical verification confirms that the video in question is actually recycled footage dating back to the 2024 BYC Raji Muchi protest.
Fact Check: Exposing the Truth Behind Recycled Footage
According to security and digital media analysts, the video does not depict any recent or arbitrary abduction. Rather, it captures moments from the 2024 unrest where aggressive protesters deliberately pelted law enforcement personnel with stones and projectiles in a calculated attempt to provoke violent clashes, create public disorder, and manufacture sensationalized material for anti-Pakistan narratives.
By taking old, contextually distinct footage out of circulation and attaching fictitious, modern timestamps, hostile accounts are attempting to revive a narrative of “enforced disappearances” to defame security agencies.
Defeating Fifth-Generation Warfare and Disinformation
Defense and security experts have repeatedly underscored that such malicious tactics form part of a broader fifth-generation information warfare strategy designed to sow discord and undermine the writ of the state in Balochistan.
“Anti-state elements rely heavily on deepfakes, recycled archival footage, and deliberate fabrications because they lack ground realities. Security forces operate strictly within the bounds of law and the constitution to ensure public safety,” security analysts noted.

Authorities have urged the public and digital media consumers to exercise extreme vigilance, verify sources, and reject coordinated disinformation campaigns engineered by hostile propaganda groups seeking to destabilize peace in the region.
