ISLAMABAD: Pakistan opened the second payment window for the government Hajj 2027 scheme on Monday, requiring successful applicants to upload a certified medical fitness certificate before paying the next installment.
The deadline for the second payment is Oct. 20, the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony said. Applicants who fail to pay by the deadline will have their applications automatically canceled, with previously deposited amounts refunded.
Pilgrims must upload their certified medical fitness certificates through the Pak Hajj mobile application or the government’s Digital Hajj Portal before they can submit the second installment.
“Uploading a certified medical fitness certificate has been made mandatory before submitting the second installment,” a ministry spokesperson said in a statement issued ahead of the payment window.
The ministry also said successful applicants would no longer be able to change their selected Hajj packages once the relevant deadline had passed.
Pakistan has increasingly shifted Hajj registration, documentation and payments to digital platforms as part of efforts to streamline pilgrimage management and reduce administrative procedures.
The government has also approved its first multi-year Hajj Policy for 2027–2030, allowing earlier planning for accommodation, transportation and other arrangements in Saudi Arabia.
Pakistan has been allocated 179,210 places for Hajj 2027, including 107,526 under the government scheme and 71,684 through private operators.
