Nana Patekar’s Final 2:30am Message Before Death Surfaces

GOA:  Legendary Indian actor Nana Patekar has died at the age of 75 after suffering cardiac arrest at his residence in Goa, with a doctor detailing the veteran actor’s final hours.

According to reports, Patekar was taken to Manipal Hospital after his condition suddenly deteriorated at his home. Despite extensive efforts by doctors and emergency staff, he could not be revived.

Dr Shekhar Salkar said Patekar was brought to the hospital between about 4:20 a.m. and 4:30 a.m. and was declared dead around 5:30 a.m.

Salkar said Patekar had messaged a friend at about 2:30 a.m., saying he was not feeling well. However, the friend did not see the message immediately because it was late at night. He later called Patekar and went to his residence at around 4 a.m.

When the friend arrived, Patekar was reportedly sweating heavily and his condition was deteriorating. He gradually lost consciousness, prompting arrangements to take him to hospital.

The doctor said emergency medical assistance was provided before Patekar reached the hospital. Medical staff then performed cardiac massage and other resuscitation efforts for between 45 minutes and an hour, but the actor could not be saved.

Salkar said Patekar was brought to the hospital in an unresponsive state. Authorities were informed after the death was registered as a medico-legal case, while his body was taken to Goa Medical College for a post-mortem examination.

Meanwhile, tributes poured in from across India’s film industry following Patekar’s death. Actors including Jr NTR, Akshay Kumar, Riteish Deshmukh, Kiara Advani and Rakul Preet Singh paid tribute to the veteran actor on social media.
