Pak Army’s Robust Response To Unprovoked Firing By Afghan Taliban, CM Sindh

KURRAM: The security forces killed several Afghan Taliban personnel and destroyed a base camp during retaliatory action along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

The sources said Afghan Taliban personnel opened unprovoked fire in the Taida sector of Upper Kurram and at Ghoz Garhi, prompting an immediate response from Pakistani troops.

The reported exchange involved attacks on Taliban border positions, although the precise casualty count remained unclear.

The firing was intended to facilitate the movement of militants across the border into Pakistan. They alleged that Afghan Taliban positions provided covering fire to support the attempted infiltration.

Pakistani troops responded by engaging the positions from which the firing originated, the sources said.

They described the response as effective and reported casualties among Afghan Taliban personnel at Ghoz Garhi.

However, the supplied account did not identify those reportedly killed or provide an exact death toll. The alleged connection between the firing and an infiltration attempt also remained a claim attributed to the security sources.

In this sense, the forces targeted the Afghan Taliban’s Topsar post and Shpola base camp, according to the same sources.

They claimed that the Shpola camp was completely destroyed during the response. Taliban personnel also reportedly vacated a border post following the Pakistani action.

The account also did not specify the duration of the exchange, the weapons used, or whether Pakistani personnel sustained casualties.

He said the response at Taida and Ghoz Garhi demonstrated the military’s professional capabilities. Shah also praised Pakistani troops for responding firmly to the alleged unprovoked firing by Afghan Taliban personnel.
