PANJGUR: Security forces foiled an attack attempt in Panjgur, Balochistan, killing six militants affiliated with Fitna al-Hindustan and injuring several others during an effective retaliatory operation, according to security sources.
The attack, allegedly carried out by militants of the Balochistan Liberation Front (BLF), was thwarted with the help of modern technology, the sources said.
A large quantity of weapons and explosives was also recovered during the operation.
Security forces have intensified efforts to prevent militant attacks and dismantle terrorist networks operating in the region.
Last month, security forces launched a fresh operation under Operation Radd-ul-Fitna III in the Shiwan Valley area of Balochistan, Fitna-ul-Khawarij.
The operation targeted Afghan Taliban-backed TTP network operating in the area. Precision strikes were carried out against terrorists positions in Shiwan Valley, resulting in the reported deaths of seven Fitna-ul-Khawarij terrorists.
“Operation Radd-ul-Fitna 3” was launched across Balochistan following the terror attacks carried out by the Indian proxies- BLA, BLF and TTP- against security forces and public infrastructure.
