KP Government Announces 15% Increase in Doctors' Salaries

PESHAWAR: KP Government Announces 15% Increase in Doctors’ Salaries

Amid ongoing protests and strikes in government hospitals across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the provincial government has announced a 15% increase in the stipends of doctors who refused strikes.

This 15-percent raise has been implemented for doctors and trainers who continued their duties during the hospital strikes, serving as an encouragement for dedicated personnel.

In this regard, the Postgraduate Medical Institute (PGMI) has requested detailed lists of medical officers who worked during the strike.

All medical teaching institutions have been instructed to provide the trainee lists within two days, which must include the trainee’s name, department, training level, and the date duty commenced.

Furthermore, the name of the supervisor overseeing the trainees who performed duties during the strike must also be included in the list.

Instructions have been issued to have attendance and duty-related information for trainees verified by the respective department chair.

According to guidelines set by the Health Department, only those trainees who continued their duties will be entitled to the 15% additional stipend, while the 15% additional stipend for trainees who did not report for duty will remain withheld until the current dispute is resolved.

A Comprehensive Review of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Government’s Public Welfare and Development Initiatives

Over the past few years, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has undertaken a series of comprehensive measures to elevate the living standards and general welfare of the province’s citizens.

Through revolutionary reforms in the healthcare sector, the scope of the Health Card has been expanded to provide free medical facilities to the common man, allowing millions of deserving families to access quality medical treatment.

Additionally, policies are systematically being implemented to improve the performance of medical staff in government hospitals, modernize healthcare infrastructure, and foster transparency.

Prioritizing education, law and order, and basic infrastructure development has also remained central to regional progress and public welfare.

Upgrading educational institutions and launching skill development programs to create employment opportunities for youth are designed to bring talented individuals from underdeveloped districts into the mainstream.

Development projects such as road construction, electricity, and gas provision in rural areas demonstrate the government’s serious commitment to alleviating public hardships.

Despite prevailing financial and administrative challenges, the announcement of a 15% stipend increase for doctors who did not participate in strikes reflects the administration’s resolve to reward dedication and hard work rather than condoning neglect of duty.

Initiatives of this nature not only enhance institutional performance within government facilities but also ensure uninterrupted medical care for patients during emergencies.
