PESHAWAR: Internal rifts within Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) have surfaced once again during the party’s long march, following a sharp exchange of accusations between senior leadership in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The friction intensified after PTI Khyber Pakhtunkhwa President Junaid Akbar made statement describing past protest marches as “fixed matches,” without explicitly naming former Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur. Akbar’s remarks brought underlying factional tensions to light by questioning the credibility and execution of previous party demonstrations.
Gandapur’s Alleged Audio Response
Following Akbar’s statement, an audio message attributed to Ali Amin Gandapur emerged, containing strong language directed at internal critics:
-
Restraint for Imran Khan: Gandapur claimed he is remaining silent solely out of respect for PTI founding chairman Imran Khan and party unity.
-
Warning to Opponents: In the leaked message, he warned party members that if he chose to speak out, “many faces would be exposed,” adding that he is well aware of everyone’s true political standing.
Escalating Internal Debate
The exchange between Junaid Akbar’s “fixed match” comments and Gandapur’s stern response has triggered a fresh debate within PTI regarding leadership, past strategy, and current political direction.
