QUETTA: Security forces successfully repelled a terrorist attack targeted at civilian infrastructure and company vehicles in the Samban area of Kalat, Balochistan.
According to the security officials, terrorists belonging to Fitna al-Hindustan (FaH) attempted to ambush civilian machinery and workers at a local civilian crush plant.
However, swift intelligence sharing allowed security personnel to reach the scene promptly and engage the militants, forcing the attackers to flee into the surrounding rough terrain.
Following the retreat of the assailants, troops immediately cordoned off the area and an area sanitisation operation in Kalat was initiated to hunt down the escaping militants and neutralize potential threats in the vicinity.
Military and law enforcement agencies confirmed that civilian workers and company assets remained unharmed due to the rapid response.
Intelligence-led surveillance and counter-terrorism activities are currently underway, and authorities reiterated their firm resolve that the ongoing area sanitisation operation in Kalat will continue until all hostile elements in the district are fully eliminated.
Note on Militant Attacks in Balochistan
Balochistan has faced a notable escalation in militant attacks targeting security forces, critical economic infrastructure, and innocent civilians.
Militant organizations—frequently operating under proxy umbrella designations like Fitna al-Hindustan (FaH)—continue to orchestrate low-intensity insurgent activities aimed at destabilizing regional peace and disrupting national development initiatives across the province.
These hostile groups regularly target soft targets, including civilian labor camps, transport convoys, communication networks, and mining sites, in an effort to create widespread economic disruption and instill panic among local communities.
In response to the persistent threat, Pakistan’s security apparatus, including the Pakistan Army, Frontier Corps (FC), and local law enforcement agencies, has significantly intensified counter-terrorism operations, including targeted intelligence-based operations (IBOs) and comprehensive sanitisation sweeps across vulnerable districts such as Kalat, Kharan, Washuk, and Gwadar.
State institutions maintain a zero-tolerance policy against state-sponsored terrorism and violent extremist organizations.
