Balochistan CTD Operation: Two Senior BLA Commanders Arrested, HEROF-3 Terror Plots Foiled

QUETTA:  In a landmark intelligence-led operation, the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) and law enforcement agencies have successfully apprehended two high-value commanders of the proscribed Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA), identified as Niaz Jatoi and Habib ur Rehman.

According to security and provincial government sources, the arrested commanders were the masterminds behind a sinister plot to orchestrate large-scale carnage across Quetta. The foiled attacks were specifically designed to target national infrastructure, public spaces, and official celebrations commemorating Pakistan’s Independence Day on August 14.

Balochistan CTD Operation: Major Breakthrough Against the Alleged HEROF-3 Network

Investigators revealed that Jatoi and Rehman were actively spearheading the banned outfit’s so-called “HEROF-3” campaign—a coordinated effort orchestrated by anti-state elements to sabotage peace, disrupt civic harmony, and target civilian and security installations in the province.

Prompt and preemptive intelligence operations broke the backbone of this terrorist cell, neutralizing an imminent threat to innocent lives. Security agencies recovered heavy explosives, communication hardware, and maps targeting critical government buildings during the raids.

State Resolve Against Anti-Peace Elements

Reiterating the state’s zero-tolerance policy toward terrorism, provincial leadership praised the relentless vigilance and professionalism of the CTD and intelligence apparatus. Officials emphasized that law enforcement agencies remain fully mobilized to root out foreign-backed proxies and elements attempting to hinder Balochistan’s path toward development, peace, and prosperity.
