PESHAWAR: In a proactive move to enhance public hygiene and upgrade urban infrastructure, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has mobilized relevant departments to execute a comprehensive, province-wide cleanliness and waste management campaign spanning major cities and commercial hubs.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Government Launches Comprehensive Cleanliness Drive
The ongoing initiative focuses on clearing accumulated waste from commercial markets, trading centers, major thoroughfares, and public spaces, ensuring a healthier and cleaner environment for residents across the province.
Province Wide Operational Scope
Administrative efforts have been intensified across multiple divisions, ensuring targeted interventions in urban centers:
Dedicated sanitation crews are actively engaged in systematic waste removal and drainage maintenance across key commercial zones and main avenues in Peshawar, Kohat, Bannu, and Dera Ismail Khan.
Intensive cleanup operations are concurrently underway in Abbottabad, Mansehra, and Haripur, focusing on regular garbage collection and the preservation of public spaces.
Municipal teams have been fully activated across Buner, Dir, Dargai, and surrounding areas to upgrade local sanitation protocols and streamline waste disposal mechanisms.
Public Cooperation and Sustainable Governance
Emphasizing administrative efficiency and sustainable municipal management, the current provincial leadership has prioritized continuous monitoring to ensure tangible improvements over past governance shortfalls in urban sanitation.
Authorities have also appealed to citizens for active cooperation, urging the public to dispose of waste only at designated collection points to help reduce litter and maintain long-term environmental standards. Officials noted that the success of this ongoing campaign relies heavily on the synergy between dedicated municipal execution and responsible civic participation.
