QUETTA: Security forces have killed militant commander Adil Shah, alias Darvesh, during an intelligence-based operation in Balochistan’s Qilla Saifullah district, according to security sources, as operations under Radd-ul-Fitna 3 continue across the province.
The sources identified Shah as a commander associated with the group referred to by Pakistani authorities as Fitna al-Khawarij. They said the operation targeted him following intelligence information. A separate news report also carried the account of his killing in Qilla Saifullah.
The supplied account did not specify the operation’s exact location within the district, its timing or whether any other casualties occurred. Details about weapons recovered or arrests were also not provided.
Shah had been associated with the militant group since December 2020 and had supervised its financial affairs since 2024.
They alleged that his responsibilities extended beyond financing to arranging accommodation for militants arriving from outside the area.
The sources said he provided shelter in Zhob, Sherani and Shaban, helping members of the group maintain a presence in those locations.
However, the account did not provide further details about the accommodation arrangements or identify other individuals allegedly involved.
They also accused Shah of involvement in attacks on security forces, kidnapping for ransom and extortion. These allegations were attributed to security sources and were not accompanied by supporting case documents in the supplied report.
Security sources said 19 first information reports had been registered against Shah and that authorities had placed a bounty of Rs2.5 million on his head.
The account did not identify the police stations where the cases were registered or provide their individual status. It also did not specify when the reward was announced.
The reported financial and logistical responsibilities formed a central part of the sources’ description of his role within the group.
