Escalating Killing Incidents and Target Violence in Punjab

The recurring incidents of target killings, personal vendettas, and honor-based violence present a critical challenge to public safety across Punjab.

A significant number of violent offenses stem from rejected marriage proposals, long-standing family feuds, or domestic disputes, where perpetrators frequently resort to deadly firearms to exact revenge.

Such brutal attacks not only result in the tragic loss of innocent lives but also instil widespread fear and psychological trauma within local communities.

The easy availability of illegal arms and inadequate deterrents further exacerbate the law and order situation in major urban centers.

To address this growing violence, law enforcement agencies must strengthen intelligence gathering, improve street surveillance networks, and strictly enforce gun control measures.
