According to the notification, Army and Rangers personnel will perform security and protection duties for the foreign teams throughout their stay in Pakistan.

Sources said the deployment was made following requests from the Punjab Home Department and the Chief Commissioner Islamabad. Additional security arrangements have been made at important locations, along the teams’ routes and at venues associated with their activities.

The notification stated that the deployment of Army personnel was made under Article 245 of the Constitution, while Rangers personnel were assigned security responsibilities under the Anti-Terrorism Act, 1997.
