Farah Azeem Shah Criticises Fazlur Rehman Over Remarks

QUETTA: Balochistan Assembly member Farah Azeem Shah has criticised Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman over his statements and allegations, calling them regrettable and urging him to avoid irresponsible remarks and baseless accusations.

Speaking at a news conference in Quetta, Shah said anti-Pakistan elements become active whenever the country moves towards success and achieves progress on different fronts.

“Hostile elements cannot digest Pakistan’s achievements. However, Pakistan continues to make progress in various fields, including defence capabilities and diplomacy,” she said.

Shah said Pakistan’s role in promoting peace was recognised internationally, adding that national interests must take precedence under the prevailing circumstances.

She stressed the need for political leaders to rise above their differences and unite for the country’s stability.

“This is the time for national unity. We must never abandon our martyrs and security personnel, whose sacrifices are vital for the country’s defence and the establishment of peace,” she said.

The provincial assembly member described terrorism as a temporary challenge and expressed hope that it would soon come to an end.

Referring to Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti, Shah said he had consistently supported the state’s position.

She emphasised that Pakistan’s security, national unity and state interests must remain the top priorities, urging political leaders to demonstrate responsible conduct.
