DUBAI: The Emirate Officials have unveiled shocking report about the alleged attacker arrested while attempting an attack on an Israeli flight.
According to the details, intense investigations into the cockpit assault on a commercial aircraft have unveiled shocking revelations regarding a planned terror plot.
According to Emirati authorities, the co-pilot of the FlyDubai flight intended to carry out a suicide attack at Ben Gurion Airport in Tel Aviv by seizing control of the aircraft and crashing it into the airport’s terminal building during the Dubai to Tel Aviv flight.
Investigation Details and Security Findings
Authorities stated that the Omani co-pilot, operating the September 30 service, was radicalized while studying in Australia in 2017.
Notably, the suspect had successfully passed all standard security screenings during his airline recruitment with no prior suspicious indicators detected.
Investigators revealed that the co-pilot modeled his suicidal plan after the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks, having previously made two separate reconnaissance trips to Tel Aviv to study the route and airport layout prior to the Dubai to Tel Aviv flight.
During the incident inside the cockpit, the co-pilot attacked the captain with an axe.
The suspect subsequently confessed to the meticulous planning and execution in the presence of his legal counsel.
While preliminary findings indicate he acted alone without identifiable accomplices, Emirati prosecutors are continuing their expansive investigation into potential associates and international links.
Quick-thinking crew members, passengers, and the captain managed to overpower the attacker, allowing the aircraft to land safely in Tabuk, Saudi Arabia.
