ISLAMABAD: Pakistani playwright Khalil ur Rehman Qamar has once again become a topic of debate on social media, but this time the controversy centres on his daughter, Hijab Khalil, who has faced criticism over her recently shared dance videos.
Hijab Khalil recently posted several dance videos on social media in which she was seen wearing an outfit that exposed parts of her shoulders and midriff.
The videos sparked a wave of reactions, with some social media users criticising her clothing and drawing comparisons with her father’s previous remarks about women’s dressing.
Several users pointed out that Qamar has previously criticised the clothing choices of women and actresses, arguing that his daughter’s appearance had raised questions about what they described as a contradiction between his public statements and his family’s choices.
One user commented, “And her father keeps advising other women about their clothing.”
Another posted a sarcastic remark, while a third referred to actress Saba Qamar, whom the playwright has criticised in the past over her clothing and lifestyle.
