ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s power distribution companies have asked the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) to allow them to recover an additional Rs23.33 billion from consumers under the quarterly tariff adjustment for July-September 2026.
According to Geo News, the companies submitted the request to NEPRA, which will decide whether electricity prices should be increased and by how much per unit.
The application proposes recovering Rs38.92 billion in capacity charges and seeks an additional Rs5.597 billion under operations and maintenance costs.
However, the distribution companies have also sought a reduction of Rs29.25 billion under the impact of the incremental consumption package.
The quarterly adjustment for July-September 2026 will also apply to K-Electric consumers.
NEPRA has scheduled a hearing on the application for November 17. The final impact on electricity bills will depend on the regulator’s decision.
