QUETTA: Security forces killed a militant during an operation against Fitna al-Hindustan near Mal Madrassa in Balochistan’s Surab district, security sources said.
According to the sources, security forces launched the operation after receiving information about the presence of militants between Mal Madrassa and Batigo.
A gunbattle broke out between the forces and the militants during the operation, resulting in the killing of one militant, while another managed to escape, the sources said.
Weapons and a motorcycle were recovered from the slain militant, according to security sources.
The operation was conducted under Operation Radd-ul-Fitna 3 as part of ongoing efforts against militant groups in Balochistan.
Security forces reaffirmed their resolve to maintain peace and eliminate terrorism from the province, adding that operations against militants would continue.
