DUBAI: International visa services provider VFS Global has issued a warning to Canada visa applicants in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), urging them to remain vigilant against fraudulent agents and scam networks attempting to exploit individuals seeking Canadian visas.
The advisory applies to expatriates and residents across the UAE, including Pakistani, Indian and other foreign nationals planning to travel to Canada for tourism, education, business or family visits.
VFS Global clarified that Canada visa appointment slots are completely free of charge and can only be booked through its official website. The organization cautioned applicants against individuals or agencies demanding money in exchange for appointment slots or claiming to have special access to the visa process.
VFS Global Clarifies Canada Visa Appointment and Approval Procedures
The company stressed that unauthorized agents cannot guarantee expedited appointments, preferential treatment or visa approvals. It also clarified that its role is strictly limited to administrative and auxiliary services, while all decisions regarding visa approvals, refusals, processing timelines and visa validity rest solely with the Government of Canada.
VFS Global further explained that purchasing optional services, including premium lounge access and courier delivery, does not speed up visa processing or increase the chances of approval.
Applicants Advised to Protect Personal and Financial Information
The advisory also urged applicants not to share sensitive personal information, passport copies or financial details with unverified agents, brokers or unknown callers through social media, emails or text messages.
Applicants have been advised to rely exclusively on official government channels and authorized service platforms for visa applications, document submissions and appointment bookings.
VFS Global’s warning aims to protect prospective travellers from financial fraud and identity theft while ensuring they follow the authorized procedures for Canadian visa applications.
