Seven Khawaij Militants Killed in North Waziristan Operation

MIR ALI: Pakistani security forces killed seven militants in an intelligence-based operation in North Waziristan, targeting hideouts in the Eidak area as part of intensified counterterrorism operations under the government’s Azm-e-Istehkam framework, security sources said.

The operation was conducted on intelligence about the presence of militants in the area, the sources said, adding that troops engaged the targets and eliminated seven militants.

Security forces also destroyed militant hideouts during the operation, according to the sources, who said the action significantly disrupted the militants’ ability to operate from the area.

The operation is part of continued counterterrorism efforts in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, where security forces have stepped up intelligence-based operations against militant networks.

Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi praised the security forces for the operation and paid tribute to the personnel involved.

Naqvi said the security personnel who killed the seven militants, whom he alleged were backed by India, were “heroes of the nation.” He also praised their professional capabilities for thwarting what he described as the militants’ “nefarious designs.”

The minister said the sacrifices and achievements of security personnel in the fight against terrorism were a source of pride for the nation.

Security forces have pledged to continue operations against militant networks and work toward what authorities describe as the complete elimination of terrorism and restoration of lasting peace in the region.
