According to official notifications issued by the Finance Division, the price of petrol has been reduced by Rs 5.16 per liter, fixing the new price at Rs 381.14 per liter.

Petroleum Prices in Pakistan in 2026

The trajectory of petroleum prices in Pakistan throughout 2026 has been heavily shaped by a complex interplay of global crude oil market volatility, exchange rate adjustments, and domestic fiscal imperatives.

As international benchmark prices experienced periodic shifts driven by geopolitical realignments and global demand trends, national regulatory authorities regularly adjusted consumer fuel prices to balance state revenues with public economic relief.

Throughout the year, domestic fuel policy remained closely tied to the Petroleum Development Levy (PDL) framework, designed to maintain fiscal stabilization under national economic guidelines while managing inflation expectations across key commercial and industrial sectors.

The ongoing management of fuel costs directly influences Pakistan’s broader economic landscape.

Fluctuations in High-Speed Diesel prices immediately affect freight, agricultural machinery operation, and supply chain logistics, subsequently impacting food prices and general consumer goods.

Conversely, petrol price revisions directly affect daily commuting costs for urban populations and small business operators.

Moving through 2026, the federal government’s strategy focuses on maintaining exchange rate stability and optimizing import costs to prevent inflationary spikes.
