BRA and Excise Department Agree to Strengthen Tax Coordination in Balochistan

HUB: The Balochistan Revenue Authority (BRA) and the Excise and Taxation Department have agreed to strengthen institutional coordination and information sharing to broaden the provincial tax base, improve revenue collection and enhance services for taxpayers.

The agreement was reached during a meeting in Hub between BRA Chairman Abdullah Khan and Director General Excise and Taxation South Zaman Khan, where officials reviewed measures aimed at advancing tax reforms and improving coordination between the two departments.

Focus on Expanding Tax Base and Revenue Collection

The meeting focused on measures to expand the provincial tax net, increase own-source revenue and improve tax administration through greater coordination between relevant institutions.

Officials also discussed ways to improve taxpayer services and facilitate compliance with applicable tax laws.

Greater Information Sharing and Institutional Coordination

Both sides agreed to enhance the timely exchange of information and strengthen coordination to improve monitoring, increase compliance and make the revenue collection process more efficient.

Participants emphasized that closer institutional cooperation would help improve tax administration while supporting efforts to identify potential areas for broadening the tax base.

Focus on Taxpayer-Friendly Reforms

The officials stressed the importance of introducing taxpayer-friendly measures alongside broader tax reforms, with the aim of making compliance requirements more convenient, transparent and accessible.

Both departments reaffirmed their commitment to continued cooperation and coordinated initiatives to strengthen Balochistan’s fiscal capacity, improve tax administration and enhance the province’s own-source revenue.

The officials also agreed to continue joint efforts in line with the provincial government’s objective of increasing revenue through a broader and more effective tax base.
