Joint Delegation of Government and PPP to Meet PTI Leadership Tomorrow

ISLAMABAD: A joint delegation of the government and PPP will meet with PTI leadership tomorrow.

According to the media reports,  President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif held a meeting at the Aiwan-e-Sadr, during which it was decided that a joint delegation of the government and the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) will meet the PTI leadership tomorrow.

The delegation will hold negotiations with the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leadership regarding the current political situation.

According to details, the meeting between Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and President Asif Ali Zardari determined that the joint delegation will include Mohsin Naqvi, Rana Sanaullah, Amir Muqam, Sherry Rehman, Naveed Qamar, and Ijaz Jakhrani.

The high-level meeting also exchanged views on the overall political and security situation of the country. Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, Law Minister Azam Nazeer Tarar, Advisor on Political Affairs Rana Sanaullah, Attorney General Mansoor Usman Awan, Senator Sherry Rehman, Salim Mandviwalla, Sharjeel Inam Memon, and Nasir Hussain Shah also participated.

During the session, deep concern was expressed over the security situation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif reviewed the national security situation and emphasized the need to further strengthen the national resolve against terrorism and ensure effective cooperation among relevant institutions.

PTI Long March and Protest Stance

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has a long-standing history of protest movements against government policies and alleged electoral rigging, which includes strategies of organizing sit-ins, protest demonstrations, and calling for long marches to mount pressure on the government.

PTI’s stance has consistently been that their fundamental democratic and constitutional rights are being violated, and they exercise their right to peaceful protest for the fulfillment of their demands.

The party leadership maintains that until their demands are met and the release of political prisoners is ensured, their protest stance and pressure will remain active.

Amid the recent political tensions, where PTI has once again prepared to head towards the federal capital and stage demonstrations, this upcoming meeting by the joint delegation of the government and the PPP is seen as a crucial effort to defuse tensions and break the deadlock.
