KALAT: Pakistani security forces killed four militants and wounded another during an intelligence-based operation in Kalat district of Balochistan following an exchange of fire, according to a military statement.
Security forces launched the operation after receiving what the military described as verified intelligence about the presence and movement of militants in the area.
During the raid, troops cordoned off the location and blocked potential escape routes, triggering an intense exchange of fire. Four militants were killed, while another sustained injuries, the statement said.
The military did not disclose the identities of those killed or provide further details about the location of the operation.
Security forces reiterated their commitment to maintaining law and order, protecting civilians and continuing operations against militant networks across Balochistan.
The operation comes amid ongoing counterterrorism efforts in the province, where security forces have been carrying out intelligence-based raids targeting armed groups and their infrastructure.
Pakistan has also pursued a broader counterterrorism strategy under the National Action Plan and the Azm-e-Istehkam framework, aimed at strengthening security coordination and disrupting militant activity.
