ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has extended its ongoing airspace closure for all Indian aircraft, with the restriction now remaining in place until 5:00 AM on November 27, 2026. The Pakistan Airports Authority (PAA) has issued a formal Notice to Air Missions (NOTAM) outlining the updated directive.
Pakistan Extends Airspace Closure for Indian Aircraft
According to a PAA spokesperson, the measure applies to all Indian-registered aircraft as well as any planes owned, operated, or leased by Indian airlines and operators.
Pakistan initially closed its airspace to Indian aircraft on April 23, 2025. The prolonged restrictions have forced Indian carriers to reroute numerous international flights through alternative, extended flight paths.

Aviation analysts note that these detours have significantly increased flight durations and fuel consumption, driving up operational costs and causing substantial financial losses for Indian airlines. With this latest extension, the prohibition on Indian aircraft utilizing Pakistani airspace remains strictly enforced.
