ISLAMABAD: The internal disputes of PTI led to the long march failure and enforcement of Governor Rule in KP.
According to the sources, Internal friction within Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has burst into the open following revelations that the PTI core committee demands fact finding probe into failed talks with the government and the subsequent political fallout.
According to party sources, heated exchanges occurred during a recent core committee meeting where members openly criticized the central leadership.
Several attendees expressed strong frustration, alleging that crucial backdoor negotiations and high-level decisions were deliberately hidden from the broader leadership body.
Committee members demanded the immediate formation of an inquiry panel to investigate events leading up to the long march and the imposition of emergency measures, asserting that accountability is necessary to identify those responsible for the breakdown in dialogue.
However, party sources confirmed that Chairman Barrister Gohar rejected the proposal, refusing to set up an inquiry panel even as the PTI core committee demands fact finding probe into failed talks.
PTI’s Long March and Governor Rule in KP
The political crisis surrounding Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf escalated sharply following its recent long march toward the federal capital.
Organized to press for political concessions, release of detained leaders, and immediate electoral reforms, the agitation faced severe logistical hurdles, internal strategic disagreements, and strong resistance from law enforcement authorities.
The march’s abrupt conclusion and lack of clear political breakthroughs triggered intense internal debate regarding organizational leadership and decision-making transparency.
The aftermath of the march culminated in significant constitutional consequences, including the imposition of Governor’s Rule in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), ending PTI’s 13-year administrative dominance in the province.
Federal authorities cited severe administrative breakdown, law and order challenges, and constitutional non-compliance as grounds for executive intervention.
The loss of provincial governance eliminated PTI’s key territorial base and administrative leverage, further deepening division within the party cadre.
