DOHA: Pakistani passport holders may qualify for a free tourist visa on arrival in Qatar for stays of up to 30 days, subject to specific entry requirements listed by the country’s Ministry of Interior.
The facility also covers Indian and Thai nationals. However, the permitted stay depends on the traveller’s confirmed hotel reservation and cannot exceed 30 days.
According to Qatar’s Ministry of Interior, Pakistani travellers must meet four conditions to qualify for the facility.
Four Requirements for Pakistani Travellers
Travellers must fulfil all four requirements before arriving in Qatar:
- Valid passport: The passport must remain valid for at least three months from the date of arrival.
- Return ticket: Travellers must hold a confirmed round-trip flight ticket.
- Hotel reservation: Visitors must book their accommodation through the official Discover Qatar website. Reservations made through other hotel or travel platforms are not accepted.
- Health insurance: Travellers must have valid health insurance from an accredited insurance company.
Although the visa allows a maximum stay of 30 days, the actual duration may be shorter depending on the hotel booking.
How Many Destinations Can Pakistanis Visit Without a Prior Visa?
The facility comes amid limited international travel access for Pakistani passport holders.
According to the July 2026 Henley Passport Index, Pakistan ranked 101st globally, with access to 29 destinations without obtaining a visa in advance. The figure includes destinations offering visa-free entry, visas on arrival and electronic travel authorisations.
The index showed that Pakistan’s passport continued to face restrictions compared with many other countries. Moreover, visa policies can change, so travellers should check entry requirements before booking flights.
Important Update on Qatar’s Visa Policy
Qatar’s Ministry of Interior continues to list the free 30-day visa-on-arrival facility for Pakistani, Indian and Thai nationals on its official website. However, a report updated in October 2026 says Qatar suspended visa-on-arrival access for Pakistanis on March 31, 2026.
Travellers should therefore confirm the facility’s current status with Qatar’s authorities or their airline before making travel arrangements.
