DUBAI: The International Cricket Council (ICC) has announced the venues for the semi-finals and final of the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2027, as the full tournament schedule was unveiled.
Cape Town’s Newlands Stadium will host the first semi-final on 17 November, while Tshwane will stage the second semi-final on 18 November.
The tournament final will be played at The Wanderers in Johannesburg on 21 November.
All three knockout matches are scheduled as day games, beginning at 10:00 a.m. local time, with reserve days in place should they be required.
Wanderers Set for Major 2027 Men’s Cricket World Cup Fixtures
The Wanderers holds a prominent place in Cricket World Cup history. The Johannesburg venue hosted the 2003 Cricket World Cup final, where Australia defeated India by 125 runs after Ricky Ponting scored an unbeaten 140 off 121 balls.
The stadium also hosted the final of the inaugural ICC Men’s T20 World Cup in 2007, where India defeated Pakistan by five runs to lift the title.
The Wanderers will once again feature prominently in the 2027 tournament. It will host the India-Pakistan group-stage fixture on 10 October, along with two Super 7 matches.
Cape Town and Tshwane Also Set for Key Matches
Before hosting the first semi-final, Cape Town will stage a highly anticipated group-stage encounter between India and Australia on 7 October, a rematch of the 2023 Cricket World Cup final.
Tshwane will host three group-stage matches and one Super 7 encounter before staging the second semi-final on 18 November.
ICC Opens Ticket Ballot
Ahead of the tournament, the ICC has also opened its ticket ballot, allowing fans around the world to register for an opportunity to secure tickets for the event.
Ticket prices will range from US$9.62 (R158) for entry-level matches to US$31.31 (R514) for the highest-tier matches.

The ticketing programme also includes special provisions for family bundles, students and pensioners, as well as early-bird local allocations and pricing for community clubs and school groups.
With the venues for the tournament’s biggest matches now confirmed, anticipation is building ahead of the 2027 Men’s Cricket World Cup.
