QUETTA: Balochistan CM Mir Sarfraz Bugti has emphasized the urgent need to establish smaller administrative divisions and districts across the province alongside potential new provinces, aiming to bring government services directly to the doorstep of the public.
Addressing a press conference in northern Dera Bugti, the Chief Minister announced that all divisional posts for the newly approved Koh-e-Sulaiman Division have been sanctioned, with officers and staff set to be deployed shortly. He noted that while discussions on smaller administrative units are gaining traction nationally, the Balochistan government initiated this pragmatic approach two years ago to address the region’s unique geographical and public requirements.
“Structuring our administrative framework efficiently ensures that state institutions and the civil administration remain close to the people, eliminating bureaucratic hurdles in public affairs,” CM Bugti stated.
Balochistan CM Sarfraz Bugti Reaffirms Commitment to Developing Rakhni
Highlighting ongoing development initiatives, the Chief Minister stated that concerted efforts are underway to transform Rakhni into a model division. Although the status should have been granted earlier, development is now proceeding rapidly. Strict directives have been issued to keep Rakhni’s development projects entirely free from corruption and kickbacks, with the Communications and Works Department directly overseeing execution to guarantee complete transparency.
Security and Counter-Terrorism Operations
Turning to regional security, Chief Minister Bugti lauded the timely and professional response of security forces in thwarting a terrorist attempt targeting a construction company’s building in Gwadar. He paid rich tribute to the supreme sacrifices and continuous operations of the Pakistan Army, Frontier Corps (FC), and police in maintaining law and order.
The CM observed that a noticeable decline in terrorist incidents across the province since August is a positive indicator of the relentless efforts made by security agencies. Reaffirming the state’s unwavering stance, he stressed that counter-terrorism operations must continue unabated until the menace of terrorism is completely eradicated from Balochistan.
