GWADAR: Seven militants were killed during a clearance operation by security forces in Balochistan’s Gwadar district, according to security sources.
The sources said the clearance operation was still underway to secure the surrounding area against improvised explosive devices (IEDs).
Militants had attacked an unoccupied camp belonging to a construction company in Gwadar a day earlier. Security forces responded promptly and surrounded the attackers, the sources said.
Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi praised security forces for killing seven militants in Gwadar and commended their professional capabilities and resolve.
Naqvi said the nation was proud of the security personnel who foiled the attack. He added that those seeking to obstruct Balochistan’s development would face defeat.
He also said the entire nation stood alongside security forces in the fight against terrorism.
