Pakistan Slams Afghan Taliban’s 'Misguided Approach' Over Cross-Border Terrorism

ISLAMABAD:  The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting has issued a strong rebuke against recent statements from the Afghan Taliban spokesperson, dismissing them as a “deeply misguided approach” and an attempt to shift blame for regional security failures.

In an official response, the ministry emphasized that the primary driver of bilateral tensions is the continuous utilization of Afghan territory by militant groups orchestrating attacks inside Pakistan, coupled with Kabul’s ongoing failure to suppress these safe havens.

Pakistan Slams Afghan Taliban for Consistently Avoiding Acknowledgment of Core Issues

The Information Ministry stated that the Afghan Taliban leadership consistently avoids acknowledging the core issues souring diplomatic and security relations, choosing instead to deflect responsibility by criticizing Pakistan’s internal policies.

“The Afghan Taliban spokesperson’s latest statements expose the regime’s deeply misguided approach and unwillingness to confront the root cause of deteriorating relations with Pakistan,” the official statement read.

Accountability and Border Security

Islamabad reiterated that bilateral friction cannot ease until the interim Afghan government honors international expectations and fulfills its fundamental obligations to prevent cross-border terrorism.

The ministry underscored that rather than issuing defensive or denying rhetoric, Kabul must take verifiable, concrete action to ensure that Afghan soil is not weaponized against neighboring states.
