RAWALPINDI: Pakistani security forces have killed 10 Indian sponsored terrorists, including a woman, during clearance operations in Gwadar after terrorists attempted to attack near the Gabd border crossing and in Gwadar city.
In a statement issued on Friday, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the military’s media wing, said the attacks took place on October 22 and were carried out by terroirists affiliated with Fitna al-Hindustan.
The security forces launched clearance operations in and around Gwadar city to protect residents and secure the affected areas, the statement said.
During separate engagements, troops killed 10 terrorists, including a female suspect, and thwarted their attempts to undermine the state’s authority, according to the ISPR. One civilian was killed during the attacks, while several vehicles were damaged.
No security personnel were reported killed in the operations, which have concluded, the military said, adding that order had been restored in the affected areas.
ISPR condemns use of Baloch women in terror attacks
The military said the involvement of a Baloch woman in the attack reflected what it described as terror groups’ exploitation of women for propaganda purposes.
According to the ISPR, such tactics were intended to inflame public sentiment and lend legitimacy to terror activities. The statement also said the coercion of a Baloch woman into the attack constituted a violation of the honour and dignity accorded to women in Baloch and Islamic traditions.
The military further argued that the militants’ actions contradicted their claims of representing the people of Balochistan, saying residents had consistently rejected violence carried out in their name.
The statement did not identify the female militant or provide details about her background or whether she had previously been reported missing.
Counterterrorism operations to continue
The ISPR said counterterrorism operations would continue at full pace under the vision of Azm-e-Istehkam, which was approved by the Federal Apex Committee on the National Action Plan.
Security forces and law enforcement agencies remained committed to eliminating what the military described as foreign-sponsored and supported terrorism across Pakistan, the statement added.
The latest operation comes amid ongoing security challenges in Balochistan, where attacks have targeted security personnel, civilians and infrastructure linked to development projects.
Separately, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi praised security forces for their operation in Gwadar, commending their professionalism and resolve in responding to the attack. He said the nation was proud of personnel who had thwarted the militants’ attempt to disrupt peace and development in Balochistan.
Naqvi added that those seeking to obstruct the province’s development would not succeed, reaffirming that the nation stood alongside security forces in the fight against terrorism.
The operation comes amid continued security challenges in Balochistan, where militant attacks have targeted security personnel, infrastructure and development-related facilities. Authorities have repeatedly vowed to pursue those responsible for violence and prevent militant groups from undermining stability in the province.
